RACDGNY Events
Order of Merit
The Order of Merit (OoM) is a season-long competition open to anyone in the RACDGNY Discord. The format is Stableford Quota, and everything is tracked in the Unknown Golf App (UKG).
The primary function of the Order of Merit is to enable people to play with other members of the group. In other words, we want you to meet up with other fellow people from the RACDGNY, reunite with old friends, make new ones, and play golf with each other!
The top three in the standings at the end of June automatically qualify for the Roost Regional team (the fourth qualifier is the winner of our Roost Major, the Shepherd Open).
The winner at the end of the season on November 14 will win a cash prize and a custom trophy with the winner’s name on it, shipped directly to their home.
Season-Long Metro Matchplay Challenge
Enter our annual 64-player, season-long matchplay competition, and win the coveted Championship Belt!
PGL
The PGL is our annual team competition with six teams. Team members challenge each other for a singles match, or two people challenge other two people to a four ball match. Every team member must play at least one match. With four ball matches, partners do not have to be on the same team. You can challenge anyone, anywhere, anytime, and you can play as many matches as you want. You can talk about those matches, imagined and real, in the discord Stir the Pot channel. Points are awarded to the winning teams. The PGL is a great way to get involved and meet other people in the group.
Signup deadline is Monday, February 24. Players who sign up after that date will go on monthly waivers for future selection.

Welcome to the GovFather! at Francis A. Byrne Golf Course whose namesake is the father to NJ Governor Brendan Byrne.

The Grazing at Inness
Many of our members have referred to it as the best day of golf each year.
Join us on Thursday, June 19, for an all-day, 36+ hole trek across the King Collins 9-hole course at INNESS.
This event is a two-person team event, with three 9 nine hole matches in four-ball, modified alt-shot, and singles. The champions will be crowned following a true alt-shot Derby round.
RACDGNY will rentout the entire course for the day, and even as the championship round concludes, many will be found hitting shots until the sun goes down.
The Shepherd Open
The 2025 Shepherd Open will be held at Marine Park Golf Course in Brooklyn, NY, on Saturday June 28.
This event is our Roost Major of the season with two NIT invitations on the line.

The Crown
We run it back again this season at the Links of Union Vale! Format: Two-person combined net Stableford quota. You & your partner will receive a combined quota based on handicaps. Stableford points are accumulated based on gross scores. For example, a 10 and a 20 would have quotas of 26 and 16 respectively, for a combined Team Quota of 42. If the team finishes with 38 points, their score is -4. The highest score relative to quota wins.
Fenwick
This event will be an amicable Ryder Cup style event, with teams that remain intact over many years. Trades will be allowed, people may come / go as they please. More information coming soon.
The Shut
Our season-ender returns to The Golf Club at Middle Bay. Come show your late-season form and challenge the group to take home The Sheep!
We are working on confirming the exact date, but it will likely be Saturday, October 18.
