The Crown 2024
Welcome to The Crown, an annual event hosted by the Royal and Ancient Club of Dishonorable Golfers New York Chapter (RACDGNY).
The Crown will tee off at 12:30pm on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at The Links at Union Vale. The tournament features a two-man quota format (your quota is calculated by subtracting your handicap from 36). Each golfer will play their own ball and then team points will determine who pulls the sword from the stone and claims The Crown.
Many members have suggested that Chris Daley has an unfair home-course advantage since he’s a long-time visitor to LUV. Members with Buffalo ties have questioned Sacks title legitimacy since he’s a dedicated Stars fan who claims a Cup despite Brett Hull’s skate. In a pre-season press tour, Daley and Sacks responded to Trent Crimm’s questions about these allegations with a Roy Kent/Logan Roy inspired, “F*ck Off.”
The Links at Union Vale is widely considered the premier public course in the Hudson Valley and was formed by a group of lads looking for a course outside of NYC that didn’t suck and wasn’t mobbed. Thankfully, they succeeded. If you haven’t played it, LUV is a must visit for any NY Metro area golfer. A getable and fun layout if you bring your A-game, the course will also punish wayward shots or any golfer whose glutes haven’t properly activated. The post-round Guinness is likely poured by a veteran barkeep with a genuine Irish accent, so 19th hole accommodations at LUV are legit too.
Registration for The Crown is now open, and spots are limited. Sign up today to enjoy a day of competitive golf and good vibes.
